In Golf, As In Other Sports, Grit And Perseverance Prevail

Kevin Blue is the Senior Associate Athletics Director at Stanford University. Blue graduated from Stanford in 2005 as a four-year letter winner on the men's golf team and went on to earn his PhD in Sports Psychology at Michigan State University. He still coaches golf for both amateurs and professionals.

Blue describes the importance of grit and determination in overcoming the all-too-frequent setbacks inherent in golf, where you "lose more tournaments than you win." He explains how critical is to persevere through failures because that is when athletes can learn and improve the most. Ultimately, these kinds of experiences can help athletes improve their skills in sports and learn valuable life lessons.
