Tal Alter, executive director of the Washington Nationals Youth Baseball Academy, wrote this article during his tenure as a PCA Trainer and employee. The article recalls a season as a youth baseball coach, in which Alter's team won just one game. However, his recollection of how well his youth athletes developed as players and as people show the rewards that can come from emphasizing PCA principles, such as the ELM Tree of Mastery, Filling Emotional Tanks and Honoring the Game.
