Jack Clark, a PCA National Advisory Board Member and member of the U.S. Rugby Hall of Fame, has over 35 years coaching experience and is head coach for the University of California Varsity Rugby (@CalVarsityRugby) team, where he has won 27 combined national collegiate championships with an all-time collegiate coaching record of 614-78-5 (.880) in 15s and 109-14 (.886) in the Olympic Games version of 7s.

Clark explains the reach a coach can have over a large group of people during a single season. It is up to the coaches to use their platforms in order to improve the experiences of the players. A coach should make the game more fun and also make it safer. He or she can have a big impact by helping players enjoy their participation because they are getting better at it. It is up to a coach to improve the quality of play and standard of play while stressing the importance of athlete care. Any coach who can accomplish these goals can impact their players and everyone around their players each season.
