How Kids Get Involved With Wrestling

Jason Borrelli (@Jason_Borrelli) is the head wrestling coach at Stanford University. Before joining the Cardinal coaching staff in 2007, Borrelli wrestled and coached at Central Michigan.

Just like other sports, Borrelli says there's a variety of ways kids get involved in wrestling. Kids who end up playing in college typically started wrestling between 5-9 years old, but most played multiple sports and were involved in many activities, narrowing their focus to wrestling at the high school level. This multi-sport approach to youth athletics keeps kids motivated, injury free, and having fun.
