Coaches Can Help Their Athletes Apply Lessons Learned In Sports To Life

Suzie Hoyt, a 2017 Double-Goal Coach® Award Winner, is a swim coach at Glastonbury High School (@GburyAthletics) in Glastonbury, CT. Suzie reinforces her values—and those she imparts to her athletes—with a motto she keeps on her office door written in Latin for “I will find a way or make one.”

In this video, Hoyt talks about how she imparts important lessons on her athletes that can be applied to sport and in life. She emphasizes how hard work, determination, kindness, and compassion can pay off outside of the pool. Most importantly, she believes it is good to learn to have fun because your attitude follows you throughout your life.
