Athletes: Embrace Who You Are And Give Yourself Permission To Succeed

Dan James (@Dgjames70) worked for the United States Tennis Association where he led the wheelchair tennis program coaching at 5 Paralympics. He played college tennis at Gustavus Adolphus College and began his coaching career under his head Coach Steve Wilkinson at Tennis and Life Camps. Dan James was formerly PCA-Seattle Executive Director.

In this video, James expresses how important it is for young athletes to give themselves permission: permission to lose, to be great, to take risks, and to succeed. Ultimately, he wants young athletes to understand that the only person capable of giving us the permission to be ourselves is our self. For many of the disabled athletes, it is the first time they have been empowered to give themselves permission to do anything independently.
