Listen in as Positive Coaching Alliance goes 1-on-1 in interviews with top pro and college players, coaches, executives, and other major sports figures and academics who provide tips, tools, information and inspiration for youth and high school sports coaches, parents and student-athletes.

This 1-on-1 interview features PCA National Advisory Board Member Dacher Keltner. Keltner is a Psychology Professor and the Director of the Greater Good Science Center (@GreaterGoodSC) at UC-Berkeley.

Jim Thompson (@JimThompson18), PCA Founder, talks to Keltner about his research into the biological and evolutionary origins of compassion, awe, love, beauty, social class, and inequality... and how some of those manifest in sport.

Keltner shares findings from his study on NBA teams, identifying links between positive, supportive ‘touching’ (such as high-fives) and success on the court. Teams whose members gave each other higher levels of non-verbal support tended to be more successful.
