Mike Brown is the current Associate Head Coach of the Golden State Warriors (@warriors). With more than twenty years of coaching experience, including being named the 2009 NBA Coach of the Year, Brown brought his knowledge of the game to the Warriors in 2016 as an Assistant Coach. He brought his knowledge of the game and coaching experience when he stepped in as acting Head Coach in 2017 to lead the Warriors to a best postseason winning percentage in NBA history with a 16-1 record and NBA Championship.

By allowing your student-athlete to create their own path and make decisions, Mike Brown feels it offers the best chance for them to stay self-motivated and focused on achieving their goals. He explains how the self-motivation comes from the student-athletes getting the chance to make the decision, and not to feel they are being pushed into something they're not passionate about. By being there for your student-athlete, being encouraging, supporting them, and showing them that you care about what is important to them, you provide your student-athlete the independence to reflect and grow into their passions and ultimately be more self-motivated.
