Matt Kata (@MattK8A) is a former Major League Baseball player and the Cleveland Guardians Manager of Youth Baseball Development & Initiatives. Kata graduated from St. Ignatius High School in Cleveland, Ohio.

Kata talks about the importance that creating a culture of positivity and fun when coaching youth sports. This is most important for new volunteer coaches who may otherwise lack the technical experience or savvy. While teaching technical lessons are important, the main focus should be on making sure that the players are having fun. A coach can do this by staying positive under all circumstances.
