Charles Way is head of the National Football League's Player Engagement department. He played five years as a running back for the New York Giants and then served as the team's director of player development.
In this clip, Way talks about NFL Player Engagement efforts to educate athletes on how their impact can extend beyond their on-field performance. The NFL, and by implication many other sports, offers players a platform from which to become leaders in their communities. That can include helping to cultivate character in youth for whom the high-profile players serve as an example.
