Redefining Success In Baseball And Softball

Jeff Rodin (@JeffRodin) is in his 16th year as the Director of Baseball Outreach & Development for the Arizona Diamondbacks of the MLB. In this role, Rodin has revamped the community initiatives of the team by creating youth baseball and softball programs that allow Phoenix area youth to learn and benefit from the same tools and techniques as Diamondbacks players.

Here, Rodin explains that baseball and softball are sports known for high levels of failure. The best players are considered successful when they succeed just 30% of the time. It is important for athletes to redefine success in their own terms, have a growth mindset, and use mistake rituals to move on in to the next opportunity in a sport where failure is so likely.
