Callix Crabbe played for Major League Baseball's San Diego Padres and has served as head baseball coach for IMG Academy. He also is a Positive Coaching Alliance Trainer (workshop leader) based in Tampa Bay.

Here Crabbe advises parents to consider all the needs their student-athletes may have when considering colleges. That may extend to such mundane matters as class size. It is important, he says, not to get caught up in concerns about playing at the highest possible level of college if, in the long run, that is the wrong institution for the individual athlete.
