Matt Grahn (@CoachMattGrahn) is a PCA trainer and serves as an assistant men's basketball coach at the University of Dallas. Over 18 years, he has coached basketball at a variety of levels from high school to college, including eight years at Division I.
In this video, Grahn shares a takeaway he's learned from one of his mentors Doc Rivers, "we need more Rs' than Ss', we need more people of character and not characters." He relates this back to his recruiting process as he looks for players that will bring more to his team than just athletics. Grahn also explains the importance of separating tasks. He reminds his team that there are moments to have fun and laugh, but there are also moments when work needs to get done.
