Kayla Bashore Smedley is a former U.S. National Field Hockey team member, who played for Indiana University and competed in two Olympic Games.

In this video, Kayla urges athletes to bounce back from mistakes and failures to find success. Sports provide a great platform for young people to learn perseverance, and this is an important life skill. Continuing to work hard after success is easy, but it’s a test of strength and character to keep going and trying your hardest after a failure or bad practice. Kayla learned to push through the hard times, and that helped her find later success.
