PCA National Advisory Board Member Katey Stone (@kbstone9) is one of the most successful coaches in the history of Division 1 Women’s Ice Hockey. As head coach of the Harvard Crimson for the past 18 seasons, she has accumulated 378 victories and has led the team to several NCAA Championship appearances. She also coached the U.S. Women's Ice Hockey team to a Silver Medal in the 2014 Sochi Olympics.

When we hear about burnout, it's usually about the athletes. The PCA Development Zone has several resources on how to deal with athlete burnout, found here. But Stone says that coaches can burnout too, and it's important for everyone involved in sports to take breaks. Rest is a good way to ensure you'll be focused at practice.

She encourages athletes and coaches to focus on the sport during practice and pre-practice prep, but don't focus on the sport when you're doing other things in your life.
