How Many Different Sports Did This Olympic Rower Compete In Growing Up?

Gevvie Stone (@gevgevs) won a Silver Medal in Single Sculling at the 2016 Rio Olympics. Interestingly, Stone is also a Physician, graduating from Tufts School of Medicine while also training for the Olympics. She also competed in the single sculls at the 2012 Summer Olympics, where she placed 7th overall. In college while at Princeton, she won the women's Championship Singles race at the Head of the Charles Regatta six times.

Stone talks about her experience playing multiple sports before becoming an Olympic rower. She states that she her parents were both avid athletes, having both rowed on the national team, and were fans of being and staying active. Stone states that while figure skating was the first organized sport she participated in, she also competed in soccer, ice hockey, swimming, lacrosse, tennis, and more, before finding her passion of rowing.
