How Practice And Game Video Can Keep Players Safe

One of the most difficult aspects of coaching is explaining to players exactly how to improve a technique. Whether it's footwork, balance, force, feints or timing that coaches are trying to convey, they can use video to illustrate their points.

In this resource from Hudl, PCA's Video Software Partner, film study is even tied to safety. For example, football players may not sense that they are lowering their heads when tackling, but video can prove it to them and help the coach help the player adjust.

While watching "game tape" used to apply primarily to older athletes studying their opponents' tendencies or critiquing their own play, the advent of video playing a greater role in more aspects of many people's lives means that young players particularly can benefit from early correction of dangerous techniques.
