Youth Sexual Abuse Prevention Policy & Procedures

As a youth sports organization administrator or leader, you have the responsibility to ensure that all participants are safe and protected. This includes having policies and procedures in place to prevent sexual abuse.

These policies and procedures set organizational standards that will keep adult leaders aware and hold you and your fellow organizational leaders accountable for following through with these safety checks. No YSO wants to have youth sexual abuse concerns, which is why leaders need explicit policies and procedures to help with prevention.

The four steps outlined include a coach recruitment plan, an annual abuse prevention orientation, a list of prohibited behaviors, and a system for reporting suspected child sexual abuse.

Keep your YSO and your athletes safe by following these preventative steps.
