The downloadable resource below is a part of PCA's collection of movie discussion guides, which aim to help you make the most out of movie viewing with your team or child. Movies provide a plethora of "teachable moments" that can be seized upon by coaches and parents to help young athletes take away lessons that will help them be successful, contributing members of society.

Glory Road, based on a true story, follows the historic Texas Miners (UTEP) 1966 basketball season, when they became the first team to win the National Championship with five black starters. The film includes themes of effective teamwork, overcoming adversity, rewarding effort and skill instead of color, the impact of sports on the world, and the difference between positive and negative coaching styles.
