Oliver Luck is the NCAA's Executive Vice President of Regulatory Affairs. Prior to this position, Luck was the Athletic Director at West Virginia University. He was an NFL quarterback and is the father of Indianapolis Colts’ quarterback, Andrew Luck. This video was co-produced by PCA in partnership with USA Football.

In this clip, Luck emphasizes the importance of setting reasonable expectations with and for youth athletes. He begins with a reminder that sooner or later, youth and high school athletes will experience losses and perhaps injuries and other setbacks. He points out that it is crucial for coaches and parents to help athletes recognize obstacles. He also adds that it is important to use setbacks in sports to learn life lessons in overcoming difficulties without getting discouraged and giving up.
