Tracy Smith: There Is No "I Can't" In Sports

Tracy Smith (@ASUSkip) is the manager of the Arizona State University baseball team. His earlier collegiate managerial career included Indiana University, which he led to a College World Series, and Miami of Ohio.

In this video, shot at a PCA-Phoenix event that also included Grand Canyon University Manager Andy Stankiewicz, Smith recalls a lesson he learned from his 5th-grade basketball coach, who had been afflicted with polio in his youth. The coach, Shane Jones, had lost almost all use of his left arm and leg, yet still could demonstrate how to make a left-handed lay-up.

Smith relays the story as a counter to athletes who are too quick to say, "I can't." Smith's emotional and inspiring story can help everyone overcome perceived or assumed limitations and reach their full potential.
