Parent Strategy: Learn The Difference Between Cheering And Coaching
Tina Syer (@tinaPCA) is the Chief Impact Officer at Positive Coaching Alliance. Syer played Division I field hockey at Stanford University, where she graduated with honors and was named an Academic All-America. Her coaching experience includes seasons at the high school, college and Olympic Development levels.
In this video, Tina encourages parents to cheer for their kids without inadvertently coaching. It can be overwhelming for kids to hear both the coaches and parents telling them what to do simultaneously on the field, and can sometimes have a negative affect on both the game and the kids.
