NFL Coach Marc Trestman is a PCA National Advisory Board Member. Trestman has 28 years of coaching experience in the NFL, Canadian Football League and collegiately. He is also the author of Perseverance: Life Lessons on Leadership and Teamwork.

In this clip, taken from an interview prepared exclusively for PCA, Trestman reveals the character trait in athletes he most admires; selflessness. Football is an interconnected sport with a lot of players contributing to one goal, when players are working hard to do their best, but also so their teammates can do their best, success will follow. As Trestman says here, “When a player wants it more for his teammates than for himself, those are the kinds of players you want to coach and be around each and every day.”
