Living Vicariously Through Your Kid Manifests In Inappropriate Behavior

Jean Boyd is Arizona State University's Senior Associate Athletic Director for Student Athlete Development. In this capacity he leads Sun Devil Athletics' commitment to graduating and preparing student-athletes to become high achievers in life. He also coordinates student-athlete well-being programs and leads the department's diversity and inclusion efforts.

Boyd shares here that he has witnessed a lot of sports parents live vicariously through their youth athlete. This manifests in inappropriate behavior on the sidelines directed at the kids, coaches, and refs. As Boyd says here, "Parents, it's not cool when you try to live vicariously through your kid."
