How Positive Coaching Alliance Impacts Youth Sports

Over 40 million youth in the U.S. participate in sports today. The impact of coaches and parents on young athletes cannot be overstated. Together, they can teach goals, resiliency, integrity and teamwork to last children throughout their lives.

However, they can also ruin a child's experience through negativity and a win-at-all-cost mentality, the primary reason that 70% of youth athletes quit organized sports by age 13, most citing that sports are no longer fun.

A positive youth sports culture results from parents, coaches, officials and leaders working together to ensure a great experience for youth athletes. Positive Coaching Alliance helps that process, hosting live workshops, online education, and awards programs for schools and leagues in order to create a youth sports culture that makes not only better athletes, but better people. It takes an intentional organization like PCA to change the culture and the way youth sports are played in this country.
