How A Coaching Philosophy Defines A Kid's Experience

Brad Frost is the Head Coach for the University of Minnesota Women's Ice Hockey (@GopherWHockey) team. The Bethel University graduate has guided the Gophers to four NCAA national championships, six NCAA Frozen Four appearances, five WCHA regular season titles and three WCHA Final Face-Off championships. Frost concluded the 2015-16 season with a career record of 293-45-22 (.844) and has not had a team finish lower than second in the WCHA.

Frost explains that a coach who is all about winning is a coach who only thinks about himself or herself. A coach who is focussed on the experience of the players is one who truly wants the best for the team. This coach can still push the team to be competitive and strive to win, but he or she understands that there is so much more to youth sports than winning. It is about having fun and getting better every day.
