Meredith Prior, Head Coach of MethodLAX/Storm Club Lacrosse and North Andover High School has won Positive Coaching Alliance’s coveted National Double-Goal Coach® Award presented by TeamSnap for her positive impact on youth in sports. Prior has also created a program called Lacrosse Leadership to develop her players into leaders using lacrosse as the vehicle to share the why and how of what it takes to become leaders on and off the field. The program brings in mentors to talk with the girls and share their experiences in lacrosse which helped shape them into leaders. They focus on the characteristics and confidence it takes to rise to the top as a leader on your team, in the classroom and in the community.

Prior talks about a program they started at her lacrosse club called Lacrosse Leadership. The program brings in (mostly female) former coaches and athletes to teach the clubs’ players leadership skills, working mostly with their high schoolers. This program helps the girls understand different types of leaders and how to be leaders on their teams and in various situations. The club hopes to bring in more role models for their players so they have someone to look up to.
