Discussion Guide: Miracle

The downloadable resource below is a part of PCA's collection of movie discussion guides, which aim to help you make the most out of movie viewing with your team or child. Movies provide a plethora of "teachable moments" that can be seized upon by coaches and parents to help young athletes take away lessons that will help them be successful, contributing members of society.

Miracle follows the story of Herb Brooks as he leads the 1980 U.S. Olympic Men’s Hockey Team against the powerhouse Soviet team of the time. As underdogs with various past rivalries and backgrounds, the team comes together against all odds for their country and for each other.

“Great moments are born from great opportunity. And that’s what you have here tonight, boys. That’s what you’ve earned here tonight. One game. If we played ‘em ten times, they might win nine. But not this game. Not tonight.”
