When it comes to coaches shaping the game-day environment -- which includes ensuring a positive, supportive crowd of parents and spectators -- an ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure. This resource encourages coaches to be pre-emptive and pro-active in keeping the peace.

Some of the advice focuses on the coach's overall relationships with players' parents, such as establishing standards for behavior, getting sportsmanship pledges signed and reminding all the adults involved that youth sports are for the children participating.
